The goal of achieving an increasingly circular economy in the upholstery supply chain is very close to Adrenalina's heart, and it is for this reason that they chose Oceanic, our fabric woven entirely from recycled plastic taken from both land and sea. As Valentina Bigiarini, Marketing and Communications Manager, comments: "Oceanic is extraordinarily wear-resistant and available in a palette of soft and delicate pastel colours that perfectly match Zinovatnaya’s design. Cleverly made of recycled plastic, it enables the LEO series to become a herald of the protection of nature and the preservation of the environment."
This sustainable upholstery choice is complemented by the eco-friendly structure of the chairs, which Valentina explains was another carefully considered material selection, "Upholstery is a field that still suffers from the massive presence of non-eco-friendly and non-recyclable materials in regards to padding. For wooden structures, on the other hand, we only use FSC and Carb2 certified products, and for iron and steel parts we aim for proper disposal since the remelting of metals limits the opening and exploitation of new mines and therefore reduces CO2 emissions. All Adrenalina products can be easily disassembled and broken down to be conveyed to separate waste dumps at the end of their life cycle".

Collaboration
LEO by Adrenalina and Daria Zinovatnaya
Bringing a fresh lease of life to their iconic LEO collection, renowned Italian furniture manufacturer Adrenalina worked with Russian designer Daria Zinovatnaya to create a brand new look for these impactful seats - one that is both ultra stylish, and entirely sustainable.
Upholstered in Oceanic

Designed by Daria Zinovatnaya
With an elegant and balanced design, combining a rigid metal frame with softly padded cushions, the LEO sofa is a reflection of Zinovatnaya’s stylistic code, which focuses on the relationship between colour and geometry and draws inspiration from the artistic movements of the Russian avant-gardes of the early 1900s and the postmodern design of the early 1980s. The result is simultaneously striking and welcoming - with a postmodernist shape which will fit smoothly into residential interiors and contract grade projects, meeting the needs of those looking for a corner in which to unwind and relax, and those who appreciate comfort when held up in a waiting area.
Valentina explains the ways in which the materials used in Zinovatnaya’s design interconnect to create a seamless aesthetic, "LEO has an elegant and balanced physiognomy, in which the contrast between the rigidity of the tubular metal frame and the softness of the padded cushions is enhanced by the chromatic choices. These two elements that contrast and complement each other, blend and fit into each other, joined by fabric buckles that hook the soft parts to the metal structure along the edges of the seat cushions."
