Camira Fabrics Limited handle over 50 tonnes of packaging per year and is committed to ensuring these
materials are managed responsibly and in compliance with all relevant legislation, including but not limited to:
- The Packaging (Essential Requirements) Regulations 2015
- The Producer Responsibility Obligations (Packaging Waste) Regulations 2024
- The Plastic Packaging Tax (Descriptions of Products) Regulations 2021
- EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation 2025/40 (PPWR)
- European Union (Packaging) Regulations 2014
- The Waste (England & Wales) Regulations 2011
Camira Fabrics Limited meet waste recycling and recovery responsibilities on all packaging materials imported, handled, filled, converted, and exported.
Tertiary packaging including wooden pallets, warp beams, yarn cones and plastic tri-wall boxes are reused internally until end of life, at which point they are recycled by approved waste contractors within the UK. Raw material packaging is returned to suppliers for reuse wherever possible and miscellaneous secondary packaging such as envelopes, labels and tape are purchased from approved UK suppliers.
Camira have identified that although most sales are “business to business”, the digital sales capability of the website now allows end-users to directly purchase products which may result in a small amount of packaging becoming “household waste”. A RAM rating has therefore been included below for all applicable primary packaging of finished goods;
Packaging | Average Weight (kg) | Per item | Recycled Content [%] | B2B Industrial (Non-Household Waste) |

Camira Fabrics Limited is committed to continually improving its supply chain to reduce unnecessary waste and make realisation of life-cycle methodology and carbon neutrality a possibility for all business customers and end users. Camira report to all relevant regulators and pay the necessary contributions to support the collection, recycling, and disposal of UK packaging waste. Camira prioritise the use of recyclable, reusable, and sustainable materials wherever possible, provide clear information to consumers about the recyclability of packaging materials and continuously review packaging practices to enhance sustainability and reduce environmental impact.
