CPMG Architects and furniture specialist BOF have taken learning to a new level at The University of Nottingham, creating a space for inspiration and development across the Student Service Centres.
The project comes as part of Project Transform, which is a global initiative to provide a setting to strengthen education and research for students at the university, and improve on existing quality.
The aim was to create a space with alternative workspaces and seating, within a budget, across all Student Service Centres located across each campus, to provide an energising environment consistency throughout the campuses.

A range of our fabrics are featured on the seating and wall panels. Using Synergy, Blazer and Blazer Lite, CPMG specified the fabrics based on the quality and finish. With the wide colour choice in each of the ranges, it meant colours could be selected to coordinate with the new branding at the university. Combining colour and comfort, the fabrics have the additional benefit of being soft and ideal for the spaces required.
Phoebe James, interior designer at CPMG Architects, commented: "The fabrics give the extra warmth and vibrancy to the spaces which was a key concept in our design. It helps to make them feel welcoming, softens the barriers between the hard materials on the walls and floors, and brings the space together to give it its own identifiable brand. The coloured fabrics inject a contemporary, welcoming essence to the spaces, whilst still allowing them to be flexible in their use."
