Gender Pay Gap
Camira Fabrics Ltd is committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace. As part of this commitment, we continuously monitor and report on our gender pay gap to ensure transparency, fairness, and accountability in our pay practices.
The gender pay gap refers to the difference in average earnings between men and women across the organisation, regardless of role. This differs from equal pay, which ensures that men and women performing the same or equivalent roles receive the same remuneration.
In line with UK Government regulations, organisations with over 250 employees are required to publish gender pay gap data annually, using a snapshot date of 5th April. This report provides an overview of Camira Fabrics Ltd’s gender pay gap results and an interpretation of the findings.
Our key findings for 2025 are as follows:
• There is a 0% pay difference between men and women performing the same roles.
• The median gender pay gap is (7)%
• The mean gender pay gap is (1)%
• The female to male employment ratio is 1:2.8
• On average women’s hourly earnings remain slightly higher than men’s across the business, which is predominantly explained by Camira’s strong female representation within middle-management; technical, design, sales and marketing roles.
• 47% of women and 25% of men received bonus pay. While women’s median bonus pay was 4% higher than men’s, their mean bonus pay was 25% lower, indicating that higher value bonuses were more commonly awarded to men. This is predominantly explained by the composition of Camira’s board of directors.
Compared with prevailing trends across the manufacturing sector, which is traditionally male dominated and often exhibits gender pay gaps of 5% to 10% in favour of men, Camira Fabrics Ltd continues to demonstrate a comparatively balanced pay structure. While this data is positive, we recognise that further work can always be done to address the wider societal inequalities in pay that continue to affect women globally.
Through our continued engagement with schools, colleges, and universities to promote textile manufacturing and related commercial careers to women, ongoing reviews of our recruitment processes to mitigate unconscious bias, the promotion of flexible working arrangements, and the enhancement of our family-friendly and parental leave policies, Camira Fabrics Ltd aims to create an inclusive workplace culture that supports the retention and progression of women at all levels of the business.
We remain firmly committed to monitoring our progress each year and refining our approach wherever meaningful improvements can be made. Please see Camira Fabrics Ltd’s historical Gender Pay Gap Reports below for a transparent view of our ongoing journey;
