Transported by Design: Designology at London Transport Museum
As part of the Designology Exhibition at London Transport Museum, we are excited to be a part of the upcoming ‘Weaving Futures’ season.
Camira is featured throughout the current exhibition, as we weave the moquette fabrics for Transport for London (TfL), and help to tell the story of the history of design on and around London transport.
Weaving Futures, which runs from 21st November until 18th February 2017, will focus on digital jacquard woven textiles and moquette concepts, curated in partnership with research and design industry experts, Philippa Brock and Samual Plant Dempsey. As part of the exhibition there will be a digital loom in action, with a number of designers taking up residency over the coming months, including ourselves, as well as Wallace Sewell, Eleanor Pritchard and many more.
Our transport design team will be hosting a series of workshops at the Museum on Friday 9th and Saturday 10th December, Wednesday 18th January and Tuesday 7th February. There will be more information nearer the time as to what we’ll be doing and just how we’ll be making the most of the digital loom!
