Camira | Clerkenwell Design Week 2022
Join us at Clerkernwell Design Week
We're delighted to be opening the doors to our newly refurbished showroom for the return of this much-missed event and, at this year's CDW, we'll be exploring the ever-increasing issue of marine plastic pollution, and the role designers and makers can play in combatting the problem.
Showcasing our SEAQUAL fabrics, Oceanic and Quest - made using recycled plastic taken from the sea - alongside original artwork by coastal artist Maggie Cochran, and upcycled plastic furniture by Motley Makers, our exhibition at the event will serve as a powerful depiction of waste made wonderful.

Initially launched in 2020, Oceanic marked the start of our work in recycled polyesters containing sea waste, and is a multi-tonal, chunky upholstery fabric which combines and contrasts a light warp with a deeply saturated weft. Closely followed by the launch of Quest in 2021, a lighter weight textile coloured to create a delicate two-tone weave detail, the two fabrics have been created to work in harmony, or feature in isolation.
Lynn Kingdon, Creative Director at Camira, explains: “The SEAQUAL Collection is one of our proudest achievements, and we’re delighted to bring it to life at Clerkenwell Design Week - Oceanic and Quest pair beautifully by design, and we’ll be showcasing the many ways in which they work together. The event is also a powerful opportunity to highlight the urgency of marine plastic pollution, and our responsibility as designers and manufacturers to be the solution through the products we create, make, and use.”
