Healthcare

Our fabrics are designed to enhance people’s lives and are with us for the long haul, in sickness and in health.

So we have a wide array of fabrics which are suitable for use in all kinds of healthcare interiors.

Made for hygiene

Our technical team can help designers and furniture manufacturers select the most appropriate textiles for the specific end-use area. Our highest-performing materials for healthcare are PVC, polyurethane and silicone, which are waterproof, urea-resistant, bleach-cleanable and anti-microbial.

Vita is our performance vinyl, phthalate-free, with a subtle grain effect and full matt appearance in a full spectrum of 51 colourways.

Deca is engineered from polyurethane, able to withstand both heat and moisture for up to 10 weeks as evidenced by the so-called Tropical Test for hydrolysis. So this is another popular product which is both waterproof and bleach cleanable, which can stand up to the rigours of daily infection control. Layer, made from 100% silicone, is another material which fits this performance category perfectly.

Made to protect

Our high-performance woven fabrics provide an alternative to vinyl in non-clinical areas.

They look good, feel soft and work hard because they’re powered by our TriOnyx finish, making them stain-repellent and waterproof, anti-microbial and flame-retardant. TriOnyx consists of three combination performance elements: firstly, a topical face fabric treatment which is anti-microbial and anti-fungal, so protects against bugs such as MRSA and E.coli, and is also stain-repellent using C6 fluorocarbon technology; next is a PU waterproof film, which sits behind the face fabric and prevents water or worse from getting through the fabric into the upholstery foam underneath; finally a flame-retardant backing is applied which raises flammability performance to Crib 5 Medium Hazard level and also provides added softness for comfort and ease of upholstery.

Our Halcyon and Intervene fabrics are powered by Camira TriOnyx, providing woven fabric options which are popular in nursing and care homes. They can easily be combined with Deca, Layer and Vita, as all colours are designed to connect.
