Camira's Incredible Women: Leading with Strength and Style
As we celebrate International Women’s Day, we take a moment to honor the incredible women behind the business. Today, we sit down with our dynamic Hospitality Business Development Representative, Oriana Campos who has a passion for interior design and believes in the importance of supporting and uplifting one another—especially for women in the workplace.
“Creativity has always been a part of me, whether through design or collaboration in interior decoration.”
Where are you based, Oriana?
Born and raised in Valencia, Venezuela, I made the bold decision to move to the U.S. at the age of 17, initially settling in Boston. A few years later, I relocated to Miami. I have two majors in Economics and Fashion Merchandising. Creativity has always been a part of me, whether through design or collaboration in interior decoration. It’s what keeps me grounded and passionate about the work I do.
What does your role as a hospitality business development representative entail?
As a Hospitality Business Development Representative, I'm on a mission to expand the reach of Camira and Luna fabrics - I am deeply committed to collaborating with architects, designers, and colleagues in the industry to ensure we can find the perfect textile solutions for their spaces.
What advice would you give to young women in textiles or the workplace as a whole?
Stay true to who you are and trust in your own opinions. If you want to earn respect and establish your place, always lead with kindness. You never know what someone else might be going through, and showing compassion creates real connections. Opportunities will naturally follow. Success isn’t just defined by professional accomplishments, but by the kind of person you are, both in and out of the workplace.

“ If you want to earn respect and establish your place, always lead with kindness. ”
What Challenges Do You Face as a Woman in the Workplace?
Being heard in rooms where there are strong voices and big characters can be difficult but it's important to recognise every person in the room and ensure their voices are heard. I strongly believe that regardless of number of years' experience that every person's perspective should be valued.
What Unique Perspectives Do Women Bring to the Workplace?
As a mother and a woman, I see that women bring essential qualities to the workplace. In my experience, by nature, women bring a sense of empathy, which is crucial in high-pressure environments. We help create awareness and understanding, making the workplace balanced and supportive. These qualities not only enhance teamwork but also help create more inclusive and nurturing work environment.
I love being a woman- we are strong, intelligent, capable, and kind. Throughout my career, I’ve encountered people that didn’t see my value—but because I stood up for myself, I found incredible opportunities and amazing coworkers who now see me, value me, and support me in return.
