Tom, Dick and Harry's

Located in Loughton, Tom, Dick and Harry’s is a restaurant offering a relaxed all-day dining experience. Opening in July 2018, the luxurious space includes a lounge area complete with baby grand piano, an al fresco terrace and a stylish bar alongside the main dining room.

Carefully curated to blend a mixture of vintage and modern furniture, the restaurant has an appealingly eclectic aesthetic, with palm print wallpaper, exposed concrete and dark wooden floors creating a laidback vibe that encourages diners to linger over their meals; whether they stop in for a working weekday lunch or drinks and dinner on a Saturday evening.

Created by Owl Design, with furniture provided by Protocol, the restaurant’s interior has been cleverly considered to accommodate a range of diners - from large groups to intimate couples, there is a space for everyone to relax as a result of the flexible mix of high stools, banquette seating and comfortable chairs throughout the restaurant.

Simone Gordon, co-founder of Owl Design comments on how these different types of furniture were curated to create a complimentary mix of eras, styles and colours, and how the fabric selection helped in achieving a cohesive scheme: "The client already had a selection of vintage seating, so we needed to make sure that the new chairs worked alongside these. We chose the Strike chair and bar stool by Protocol, the modern shape and brass legs of these designs gave them a mid-century feel which went perfectly with the client's existing seating.

We wanted the new chairs to stand out, so we selected Vita in Waterfall - a durable bright aqua blue leatherette fabric - for the upholstery. The colour pops add to the eclectic feel of the space and bring an element of fun."
