Purpose:
To finish woven fabric by processing it through the Sperotto and Back-coating machines in the Finishing department to meet customer order and ensure customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities/Main Duties:
- To process fabrics in a prioritised order through the finishing equipment to satisfy customer orders and meet deadlines
- Maintain the department’s health and safety standards ensuring machinery and equipment are safe prior to operation and reporting any defects to a team leader immediately.
- Ensure fabric quality standards are maintained by checking steamed and cropped along with back-coated applied correctly by carrying out weight checks on the fabric. Report any quality defects or issues to a team leader as soon as they are found.
- Ensure fabric processed through the machine is recorded on piece tickets and the AS400 computer system to maintain product traceability.
- Maintain health, safety, and environmental management system documents and records.
- Lead and coordinate health, safety, and environmental committee meetings.
- Undertake other work related to the role as determined by the Head of Health, Safety, and Environment.
Skills/Knowledge/Experience/Education:
· Experience of woven textiles
· Knowledge of fabric fault finding
· Experience of working in a textile environment
