A prime ground floor retail location in the heart of Clerkenwell EC1 is home to our brand new showroom which promises to provide a dedicated, user-focused textile resource for fabric specifiers.
We are sole occupants of the showroom which fills the entire ground floor of the ‘Poppy Building’ in the pedestrianised Brewhouse Yard. The showroom has been designed to embody our “Style with Substance” strapline, showcasing textile elegance while reflecting our manufacturing heritage.
Our aim was to inspire creativity for designers and encourage collaboration of ideas by celebrating textile design, color, patterns and trends. The new space is unapologetic in its use of dramatic large scale fabric displays to present the unique products we manufacture and maximise visual impact through the floor to ceiling glass façade of the building. An open mezzanine overlooks the main showroom, the centrepiece of which is an ingeniously engineered collaboration counter using a reclaimed warp beam from our textile manufacturing operation. Designers can browse and select fabric samples, inspired by the trends which sparked the original design intent and the machinery which wove the individual yarn threads into beautiful finished fabric. The space is versatile and adaptive and can be used for collaborative working, seminars and workshops, parties and events, as well as simply for a coffee and a chat.
The original design brief for our showroom was interpreted by Jenny Hill of Ingo Interiors in Liverpool and fit-out was handled by Manchester based Spatial Office Environments. The lighting concept, essential for textile color representation, was conceived by the UK arm of Italian company Forma Lighting using the latest motorised Motolux lighting elements to transform the overall look into a dynamic retail space.
Our Director of UK Sales Abdul Ali commented: “We’re thrilled to be moving into such a fantastic new location which will make it so much more convenient for customers to be able to access our full range of fabrics, whether it’s just to pick up a few samples or develop and discuss projects with our own design team. Ingo Interiors and Spatial have done a great job in translating and then realising our concept into a flexible, functional but above all visually stunning showroom to give us a new permanent home in Brewhouse Yard.”
