Latest supply update
It’s been a month since our last update, during which time there has continued to be an easing in lockdown situations in most countries, from mainland Europe to the UK, and from today likewise in Michigan where our North America operations are based. We are now seeing a steady improvement in customer demand which we’re responding to by increasing our production capacities, prioritising back orders and focusing on a much wider number of fabrics, for which we will be able to provide forward availability dates for improved scheduling and project planning.
Here is the latest key information to draw your attention to:
- Fabric manufacturing is now more than doubling in capacity compared to last month. Please contact your Area Business Manager or Customer Service Advisor for details of individual fabrics, stock positions or for dates on manufacturing leadtimes.
- All manufacturing sites in the UK and in Lithuania are operational, including yarn spinning, weaving, dyeing, technical knitting, and cut & sew upholstery services. We are working safely in line with government guidelines.
- Distribution of fabrics and samples continues from all facilities in the UK, USA, China and Australia, plus via Material Bank in North America for sample orders.
Finally, in response to the new emphasis on hygiene and sanitation, we have created a comprehensive update to our Fabric Care Guide, extending our advice from general cleaning and maintenance to cover disinfection protocols as well. In addition, a large number of fabrics - suitable for both upholstery and the increasingly popular privacy panel applications - have now been fully tested for bleach cleanability and disinfection, giving added benefits for quick wipe down cleaning and sanitation. More information is available on our website or from your usual contact person.
Thank you very much for your continued trust in Camira. There are positive signs that we’re starting to emerge from the depths of the pandemic and we look forward to continuing to work together as we all navigate the road to recovery.
