Collaboration

Daniel Ojari

Parabella Animation Studio is a BAFTA award winning animation studio, co-founded by Daniel Ojari and Mikey Please, specialising in bringing narratives to life through film.

With a unique visual style and an incredible sense of creativity, Dan and Mikey have been commissioned to create films for the likes of Channel 4 Television (E4), 2017’s The Great British Bake Off, Belgium National Lottery and Twinings of London.

Camira first started working with Dan in 2012, as a young graduate from the Royal College of Art (RCA) before Parabella was formed. With his wild imagination, enthusiasm and superb storytelling ability through animation, Camira enlisted him to create a series of films for a range of our fabrics.

Most recently we switched from film to image and worked with Parabella for the creative concept photography to support our 2019/20 trend report.

Video animation

Taking yarn and fabric, Dan and his team use stop-motion animation techniques to reinterpret a story and convey colour, texture and emotive connection with these short films.

The showreel of films can be found on YouTube for Hemp, Monroe (a fabric now discontinued), Blazer (Lambs and Dolphins), Synergy, the Synergy Collection and Camira in numbers.

Conceptual imagery

Parabella created the concept imagery to support the four trends featured in Why not..., our 2019/20 trend report. Working with a team of talented freelance artists, Parabella interpreted the themes and trends to create, style and photograph the front cover, lead image for each trend and the fabric moodboard palettes.
