We’ve held ISO 14001 for environmental management since 1996, ISO 9001 for quality management since 1993 and gained OHSAS 18001 for Health and Safety in 2012. We have been a member of the UK’s Furniture Industry Sustainability Programme (FISP) since its inception in 2007 for which we are audited every two years across a range of environmental and social metrics.

The EU Ecolabel is a voluntary, independent environmental label administered by the European Union which accredits the environmental sensitivity of products throughout their lifecycle, from the extraction of raw materials through to production, use and disposal. The EU Ecolabel is a seal of approval that can be trusted. Camira have a vast selection of product ranges carrying the label including wool, bast fibre, recycled polyester and our entire technical knitting capability.
GIGA stands for “Green Ideas Green Actions”. This Chinese web portal helps architects and designers specify materials for healthier building projects. Products are showcased for their environmental credentials and criteria can range from biodegradability and upcyclability to the social responsibility of the manufacturer. Camira have the highest ranked fabric ranges on GIGA all of which have been third party verified for environmental excellence.
LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) – U.S. Green Building Council
LEED is a certification system for green building projects and helps to determine their level of environmental performance. Each material and resource used in a building can contribute to different criteria or rating systems. Camira have a large number of fabrics that can contribute to various credits including MRc4 Recycled Content and MRc6 Rapidly Renewable Materials.
