Camira Fabrics Ltd is committed to the promotion of Health, Safety, Welfare and the protection of the Environment. It is our intent to demonstrate an ongoing and determined commitment to improving health and safety at work throughout our organisation. This policy reflects our commitment to ensuring that health and safety at work is paramount to the business and that effective health and safety actively contributes to our success. We fully support the policy of zero accidents and zero occupational illness in our business. Our aim is to continually improve our safety performance and eradicate accidents from our undertaking.

In line with the current requirements of Health and Safety legislation, we will provide:

  • Safe plant and equipment
  • Suitable and sufficient Risk Assessment
  • Safe systems of work
  • Training, Instruction and Supervision
  • Safety Information
  • Accident and Incident investigation
  • Workplace monitoring and safety audits
  • Consultation with our employees on matters affecting their health and safety

Camira Fabrics Ltd is committed to meeting the requirements of statutory legislation, approved codes of practice and guidance relating to Occupational Safety and Health, including the setting of objectives and time scales to meet our requirements. The Company recognises that continuous improvement in Health and Safety performance is the responsibility of all employees, and has a structured team from all parts of the organisation to ensure that the company arrangements for safety are implemented. The company will comply with all legal and any other requirements to which we subscribe.

I have overall responsibility for Health & Safety on our sites. I am supported in this responsibility by company directors, managers, team leaders and employees. Individual responsibilities are defined in the Camira Health & Safety policy. Consultation will take place through the Employee Safety Representatives at monthly meetings and at the bi-annual Steering Committee meetings.

The board will regularly review the Company’s safety policy and ensure the provision of relevant information and training in respect of Health and Safety as well as providing sufficient funds and leadership for Health and Safety initiatives.
