Pantone Color of the Year 2022: Very Peri

Back to Inspiration

A new colour for a new era

For the first time in the history of the educational colour program, in Very Peri, Pantone has developed a brand new colour for its Color of the Year. As Laurie Pressman, Vice President of the Pantone Color Institute, explains, the introduction of this new shade "reflects the global innovation and transformation taking place. As society continues to recognise colour as a critical form of communication, and a way to express and affect ideas and emotions and engage and connect, the complexity of this new red violet infused blue hue highlights the expansive possibilities that lay before us”.

Fabrics featured (top to bottom): Silk in Parthian, Blazer in Sheffield, Rivet in Fuse, Craggan Flax in Trek.

"Very Peri works beautifully as a bright pop within a tonal palette."

Filled with optimism and energy, Very Peri is made to be seen and enjoyed, and, whether you opt to use the colour as a main feature or careful accent, it is sure to make an impact in any interior. In this Very Peri palette, we've brought the hue together with soft lilacs, deep purples and muted mauves to create a perfectly balanced, versatile scheme.

Lynn Kingdon, Head of Creative at Camira, explains, "Very Peri works beautifully as a bright pop within a tonal palette. As we can see in this collection of our fabrics, the combination of delicate pastels and darker tones really allow it to shine, whilst the subtle interplay of textures - such as the soft felt of Blazer and chunky texture of Craggan Flax - bring another layer of appeal.'
