"The space is positive and productive - as well as being undeniably McCain."

Designed to promote a hybrid working environment, Kevin McIntosh, Head of Design at Chameleon Business Interiors, explains how the new interior facilitates this, "With spaces for meetings, collaboration, and quiet working, the flexible layout benefits those using the office full time, as well as those dropping in. At the foundation of the design, McCain wanted to create a positive and productive working space that was focused on employee wellbeing, and undeniably ‘McCain’ from the moment you set foot in the building."

"A resimercial environment has soft Camira fabrics in a toned-down colour palette."

Kevin explains how the team at Chameleon worked to create space that is firmly on-brand, yet refreshingly relaxed, "The McCain brand aesthetic is centred on blacks and yellows, and we wanted to reflect this throughout the space, without feeling too corporate. To do this, we used soft woollen Camira fabrics in a toned-down colour palette, complemented by light wooden shades, lots of greenery and airy, daylight-filled spaces. The result is a resimercial environment that has the welcoming aesthetic you might find in a home."

"Sustainability lays at the heart of our material selections."

Explaining the importance of sustainability in the design of the space, Kevin comments, "McCain places sustainability and environmental impact at the heart of its considerations, and this is something that is wholeheartedly shared by both Chameleon and Camira.

That's why, for this project, we were delighted to use fabrics that are manufactured by Camira in West Yorkshire, put on furniture in Lancashire, and installed in North Yorkshire - not only does this reduce the carbon footprint by not specifying items that are travelling from halfway round the world, but it promotes the UK manufacturing industry. It also helps that Camira makes some beautiful fabrics using natural and recycled materials!"
