Colour of the month - Enchanted Forest
Colour is key to our fabrics. It’s also key to our lives. The bursts of bright colours in springtime are especially uplifting after the dark days of winter. Earlier this month our designers announced on Twitter our suggested colour of the month for March and here Jane Marks-Yewdall explains why she’s chosen dark mystic greens and what untold secrets lie hidden within the Enchanted Forest:
“It’s springtime here in the UK. The days are quickly getting longer and a haze of light mists its way through the trees, wakening the dense lush forest. Shades and hues of greens emerge from the dark silhouettes of the slender elegant trees. The sunlight hits flora and fauna and brings vivid sparks of bright colours that dance on the ground. The forest becomes a sanctuary filled with oxygen, inviting you to inhale, enjoy and escape!
The shades inspired by this environment are a selection of magical, mystical greens with an accent of a berry red and the rich yolk yellow of crocus. The hues of dark silhouettes and misty haze can be found in our new Hemp collection (see Sedge HWP25) and in Blazer colourway Northbourne (CUZ71) glistens with sunlit bright green deep within. Continuing in the Blazer range, the coolness of the jade Belmont CUZ51 accentuates the warm yellow tones of the greens in Bryanston CUZ53 and Somerville CUZ23.
In sharp contrast the accents of yellow in Ashville CUZ50 and red in Wellington CUZ13 skip on the surface of the forest floor coming back to life. The spectrum of rich tones invites you to create stories and explore intriguing colour harmonies. Keep following our blog or follow us on Twitter for more colour stories.”
