Our Heritage

We've come a long way in a short time. We started out in the 1970s - '74 to be exact - as Camborne Fabrics, revolutionizing the office interiors industry by supplying fabrics really quickly from stocked inventory with no minimum order quantities. We made a rod for our own back, but we wouldn't have it any other way. The same service focus and customer centricity still applies to this day.
Camborne was acquired in the 1990s by the American modular flooring specialist and environmental pioneer Interface, Inc. We changed to Interface Fabrics and had nearly 10 great years as part of Interface, benefiting unquestionably from its world leading environmental standing, until Camira came into being following a management buy-out in 2006. Along the way we've acquired new capabilities and entered new market areas, taking us into 3D knitting and mass passenger transport under the Teknit and Holdsworth brands. So Camira is a young company with an enviably rich heritage.
