Equilibrium: Global Trend Directions 2016/17
Camira’s first trend report, Equilibrium: Global Trend Directions 2016/17, encompasses four overarching trends which allow you to delve into thought, inspiration and opportunity.
With a contemplative colour palette using our fabrics, each trend inspires new thinking and combinations that explore our relationship with the things around us, how colours are used to represent a trend, how they work together and the development of new colour combinations to create emotion and inspiration for new environments.
The report has been developed based on research and surrounding influences, by our designers alongside trend consultant, Sally Angharad, and stylist and photographer, Rian Crabtree.
The four trends:
A trend about exploration, invention, experimentation and contemplative colour and thinking about how the gap between science and creativity narrows, seeing new aesthetics and technologies working at the same time.
Unravelling the inspiration and colours behind our Perspective trend allows us to draw on the parallels of how we absorb our surroundings and our state of mind. Much more can be gained depending on how we look at things, it can take us to a new place through shadow play, gaining clarity with the opportunity to pause, reflect and find new ways of thinking.
Studying both man and nature we can see the best both can offer and how each complement, work together and offer an honest approach to design. Every detail is nurtured and developed. By looking through a macro lens, it reveals further thoughts from nature that inspire colour, pattern and structure.
Celebrating the skill of the maker, the Artisan trend shares how the handmade appeal brings a human aspect back to design. The play between human and machine highlights the joy of making and brings new outcomes.
