Trend 04: Co-Create's colour palette
A community spirit inspires a dynamic direction for design in our final trend for 2017/18 called Co-Create, where the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. This theme celebrates the creative journey as much as the end result.
A happy weave of heritage techniques and ingenuity creates an inspiring mood for the future, whereby sharing knowledge drives a more rewarding way of working. Different skills are strengthened through collaboration and individuality is admired.
Half steeped in history and half embracing spontaneity the colour palette places classic colours alongside energetic brights to form new definitions.
Section 01: Co-Create’s Colour Palette
A multi-disciplinary approach is reflected in the dynamic colours of Co-Create, with unexpected combinations merging classic and modern aesthetics.
Vibrant, bold and dynamic this palette is held together by confident colours. The rouge tones (3, 7 & 8) travel from true red to pink, offering a trio of dark yet playful shades. Yellow based shades bring energy (6 & 12) and offer a complementary contrast to the blues (5 & 11). Lime green (10) and teal (1) are very versatile, holding their own against other brights as well as shades of grey (2 & 9).
Cool and warm neutrals are important in this energetic mix, with vintage brown (4), deep grey (2) and grey-white (9) offering calmer areas; these neutrals can make a traditional or contemporary look depending on the brighter tones selected.
This palette is made up of multiple pairs, where two colours sit in the same group but offer lots of diversity; break these duos apart and explore colour clashing to create unexpected but effective colour combinations.
