Trend 02: Be Brave's colour palette
Be Brave is our second trend for 2019/20, asking us to break the limits to become optimistically fearless. With an entrepreneurial attitude, we evaluate risks and discover new opportunities in search of exciting solutions for the future.
Embracing the unknown evokes an aspirational mood, where courage to make mistakes takes us on a journey that leads to new, extraordinary ideas.
Using design to disrupt is the key driver for this trend, featuring an otherworldly colour palette full of warm and cool tones that converge in unexpected harmonies.
Section 01: Be Brave’s colour palette
Embodying the aesthetics of the real and virtual, with textile finishes and colours that mirror both organic and digital effects, Be Brave is full of exploration and freedom.
Humanity and technology join to inspire a daring fabrics palette, where electrifying tones (3, 4 & 6) complement hazy pinks and blues (5, 8 & 9), making schemes that are vivid yet reassuring. Shades of purple hover between natural and synthetic and offer a variety of moods, whether used as a soft and calming neutral tone (8) or as an accent (1 & 4). Flashes of bright green (3 & 6) suggest vitality and bring a sense of pace; used in controlled amounts these spirited tones create a contemporary feel.
Textural greys (2, 7 & 10) are quiet in comparison to the bright colours, but are full of intrigue using pattern and texture. These grounding shades hold their own and offer extra depth to the palette; reminiscent of stormy skies or even computer screens these fabrics are stable yet versatile, balancing the range of pinks, purples and greens within the palette.
