Expanding our environmental accreditations
2017 has kick-started with several environmental achievements we are proud of. A number of new Camira products have been awarded the EU Ecolabel, increasing our number of certified fabric ranges to 17. We are also pleased to announce Oeko-Tex® 100 certification for 13 of our polyester fabrics.
Coinciding with the 25th Anniversary of the EU Ecolabel this year, the following Camira products have recently been awarded the coveted, environmental accreditation.
Patina - balances composition with construction and beauty with performance in another intimate blend of wool and flax. Available in a charming palette of 43 colourways, Patina captures the landscape around us as well as featuring nourishing new shades to complement the wider Camira portfolio.
Synergy, Synergy 170 and Individuo - our natural evolution of the bestselling fabric Blazer, Synergy's heart and soul comes from premium New Zealand wool, used in a woollen spun weft in combination with a fine worsted warp. Fibre dyed, yarn dyed and piece dyed variations create our largest colour palette of 75 intelligent shades. Synergy 170 is its wider partner fabric suitable for panels and vertical surfaces, available in 24 carefully selected Synergy shades. Utilising the Synergy base cloth, Individuo has a fluid, graduated colour appearance where no two areas of the fabric are same.
Rivet - made from 100% REPREVE®, a brand of recycled polyester made from used plastic bottles, Rivet celebrates Camira’s 20+ years’ experience in designing and manufacturing recycled fabrics.
The EU Ecolabel is a voluntary, independent label administered by the European Union which accredits the environmental sensitivity of products throughout their lifecycle, from the extraction of raw materials through to production, use and disposal. The following products are now certified to the EU Ecolabel:

• Synergy 170
• Technical Knits
Oeko-Tex® Standard 100 is a worldwide testing and certification scheme for textiles which is primarily concerned with the protection of human health. The criteria test for chemicals which are known to be harmful and those which are prohibited or regulated by various laws such as REACH. Certificates can be awarded to raw materials and finished products covering fibres, yarns and textiles for both interiors and apparel.
13 different Camira polyester fabrics have achieved Oeko-Tex® 100 certification, tested to Product Class II. This certificate includes the following product ranges including a number of 100% recycled polyester fabrics and Trevira CS flame retardant polyester fabrics:
