Expanding EU Ecolabel accreditations
The past 12 months have seen a vast increase in the number of our products accredited to the independently verified EU Ecolabel environmental standard. The number of products has jumped from 7 to 14, with verified products representing nearly 40% of all the contract metres sold in 2013 - a figure that’s expanding all the time.
The EU Ecolabel is the premier European award for products and services which meet the highest environmental standards. It is a voluntary scheme backed by all EU Governments and verified by a robust and independent certification process. It is easy to spot an Ecolabel product as it carries the flower logo – making it very simple for buyers and consumers to buy wisely in the ‘green’ marketplace.
Our latest products verified are:
- Sting - our acclaimed sustainable fabric made from a blend of pure new wool and fibre from the common stinging nettle.
- Titus - the iconic silverback gorilla design by award winning designer Emma J Shipley printed onto our 100% Laneve wool Blazer fabric.
- Tangled – the complementary range to Titus, also designed by Emma J Shipley. It has a small scale intricate pattern showcasing entangled and entwined jungle branches also printed onto Blazer.
- Technical Knitting – Our technical knitting facility is the only one in the world to hold this 3rd party label. Technical knitting uses innovative technical textile technology to create fully finished weft knitted bespoke upholstery solutions, either as a suspension mesh fabric variant for chair backs or fully fashioned 3D seat covers.
