Nick is our number cruncher who as Finance Director not only looks after our financial well-being, but also heads up our ICT function. His financial responsibilities also include our overseas subsidiaries in the United States, Australia, Hong Kong, China and Lithuania.
After graduating from Nottingham University with a degree in Industrial Economics, Nick joined accountancy firm Deloitte's in Manchester and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1990 with the newly combined Price Waterhouse Coopers. He started out in the Audit Department before moving to Corporate Recovery, then in 1996 took up an opportunity in the commercial world with textile group Readicut Plc, now Chapelthorpe, working in special projects at their head office. In 1997 he joined broadloom carpet manufacturer, Firth Carpets, as Financial Controller, then a year later switched to another newly acquired Interface company Camborne Fabrics which quickly re-branded as Interface Fabrics. He was promoted to Group Finance Director in 1999.
Over the years Nick has been instrumental in overseeing numerous acquisitions and investments, including our specialist technical knitting division (formerly known as Teknit) and transportation fabric business (formerly known as Holdsworth). More recently he led the process resulting in the acquisition of Bradbury and Stork Brothers, and of course played a key role in the financial and legal due diligence which led to the successful MBO from Interface in 2006.
Outside work he's a sports fanatic, both watching and playing, especially squash where he was Yorkshire Junior Champion and represented Yorkshire at junior and senior levels. It's hardly surprising his knees creak. He's married to Amanda, has three children and lives in Harrogate.
